As practical as it sounds, Squirrel Away patently does not prevent bushy-tailed rodents from raiding bird-tables, as it claims on the packet.
Either that or our squirrels are Mexican (a distinct possibility since they originally come from Spain) and therefore like their food a little spicier.

Peter found a good remedy for /against squirrels, especially the ones which dig up our pots in the garden, looking for nuts they may have hidden last autumn. Here in England, they sell a product which is dried Tiger dung pellets (or lion dung). The squirrels hate the smell of "big cats" and stay away. Now I don't know what the birds will smell, but worth a try, don't you think?
Thanks! I'll see if I can "hunt" down some Tiger dung.
