The plot thickens.
The woman who assessed my son's language skills and decided that he needs ESL tuition refers to him as "Tom" (including the inverted commas) and says she plans to begin "servicing" him this week.
So who's the one who needs help with their English?

Just for the fun of it: let it happen, let "Tom" be "serviced" and then report back. I want to know what he will have to learn! And why. Teach him some lines of Shakespeare beforehand. That will sort her out! Or some nice Wordsworth.
He'll probably have to learn the Pledge of Allegiance!
You know, I've now written to them 3 times politely asking for details of why he scored 5/8 for listening and 5/10 for speaking in the assessment, but they keep replying that they'll gladly explain why he was *tested*. Do you think they realise they've made a mistake?
It is always quite hopeless to start any arguments with teachers!! For Tom's sake, just play along. Any testing over and above what the rest is going through will not hurt Tom, since he is so very strong. And we can laugh about his reports, afterwards. The pledge of allegiance: I never protested when you had to learn the "Our Father" in school or similar standard formulae. Did you never see Depardieu in the "Green Card"?
Since Tom will never be drafted in the USA, the promise not to hurt the State is no sweat. Be gentle with everybody. Nobody is out to hurt your sweet little son (sun!!!).
